What we think
We stayed at Warren Farm near Cheddar Gorge in Somerset and we had a sturdy, comfortable tent for up to 6 people (which is already erected for you when you arrive). There were 3 'bedrooms', one of which was a cupboard bed which our daughter grabbed instantly and loved. There is a wood burning stove to boil kettles on and cook and an indoor loo ( what a luxury!). There is a small honesty shop on site which has every supply you could need and there is an endless supply of firewood which you will have to go and collect or forrage. There is a huge chicken pen in the middle of the site with fresh egg supplies daily. For the budding young farmers in the family, you can rent your own chicken coop for the duration of your stay and the kids will love collecting their own eggs each morning. We cooked over a campfire most nights and the kids toasted marshmallows on sticks and played with other families on site. There is a great atmosphere and this really is glamping at it's best. Wonderful family fun that we couldn't recommend highly enough!
*Tip - If you like a cuppa in the morning, set your alarm for an hour before the rest of the family get up to light the stove so that your kettle has time to boil.
